Bison Burgers with Caramelized Onions
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground bison
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 table spoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 burger buns
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 table spoons olive oil
- 1 table spoon balsamic vinegar
- Toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, cheese, etc.

Directions:
- Prepare the Burger Patties:
In a bowl, combine ground bison, egg, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
Form into 4 patties.
- Caramelize the Onions:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Add sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
Stir in balsamic vinegar and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Set aside.
- Prepare the Grill:

- Grill the Patties:
Grill the bison patties over direct heat for 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
During the last minute of grilling, toast the burger buns on the grill.
- Assemble the Burgers:
Place the grilled patties on the buns, top with caramelized onions, and add other desired toppings.
